My first sewing project

I finished my first sewing project. I made Nate this cover for his laptop. I found these bear place mats at D.I. and thought I could sew them together to make a cover. With the extra scrap I was able to make a strap with a button. (Thank you Alison!) It actually fastens with velcro though, since I felt like making a button hole was a little out of my league. But I will learn a button hole this week. Nate loves the bear, do you likey?

If I was a laptop, I'd love to be snuggled by that bear. It's both manly and fashionable. It's like hunting gear for your laptop-the velcro was also a great choice, button holes tear and if that bear ever gets unruly he's got to get out in a hurry, velcro makes for a quick escape. I went way further with this story than I ever intended and truly apologize. What I meant to say is, It's cool, great job

Nice job! You and your sewing machine are meant to become best friends. I can't wait to have you closer so that I can answer any questions and give tutorials. My Bernina and I have been best friends for over 27 years. My SIL, Joyce, just informed me that the Kenmore I gifted her with when I got my Bernina is also still going strong. My sister, Becky, still has my mother's Pfaff machine purchased in the early 1950's. Every sewing machine has a story! Love you!
